What to Expect During the Procedure
If your provider has recommended the VIA Disc® NP procedure, you can expect an efficient and simple process from beginning to end.
- Your team will create a safe, sterile environment.
- Your provider will place you under local anesthesia or moderate sedation.
- Your provider will use fluoroscopy, a computer tomography scan, to take images throughout the procedure.
- Using fluoroscopy, your provider will monitor and guide a surgical needle through your skin, through your muscle, and into the center of your intervertebral disc.
You are likely to experience some initial pain and discomfort after the procedure. Long-term results include reduced pain, improved mobility, and a reduced likelihood of having additional, more invasive procedures.
