Stephanie L. Wicker, NP-C

I am a nurse practitioner who has been in practice since 2015. I have experience in cardiothoracic surgery, outpatient internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine. I take pride in providing high-quality, relationship-based care to my patients and live by this motto: Every patient is a human being, with a life, a story, and people who love them; therefore, everyone is deserving of the care you would want your loved ones to receive.
About Stephanie L. Wicker
Why did you decide to go into healthcare?
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a nurse, having grown up watching my mom work as a nurse. To be able to care for others every day as part of your profession seemed like the perfect fit; when I learned I could become a nurse practitioner and expand my practice while still keeping my “nurse brain,” I knew I had found my calling.
Why did you chose to work at HCH?
Work/life balance! I am a proud solo mom by choice and firmly believe that my family is the most important part of my life. HCH gave me the opportunity to balance my work life with my professional life, all while reinvigorating my passion for medicine. I can give my all to my patients and co-workers while I’m working and still have the ability to be the mom my child deserves when I’m not at work.
