Lisa N. Grooms, MD

Born and raised in Indiana, I knew from an early age (about middle school) that I wanted to become a physician. I graduated as valedictorian from Noblesville High School and then pursued two bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University and its Hutton Honors College, graduating with the highest distinction. My time at IU was highlighted by great memories volunteering with close friends at Camp Kesem (for children whose parents have cancer) and by traveling – ultimately leading to a special interest in medical missions work. After obtaining my medical degree from IU School of Medicine, with special interests in medical Spanish and care for the underserved, I continued to follow IU to the Ball Memorial Family Medicine Residency, which helped sculpt me into the person and the physician I am today. During medical school, I married my high school sweetheart, and we now live with our amazing daughter and several pets. In my spare time (although rare), I enjoy reading fantasy novels and crafting.
