Treatment Options
HCH cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs are conducted in our offices at Forest Ridge Medical Pavilion and are offered three days a week for one hour each day. They include monitored exercise using individualized exercise prescription and education programs. You will also be given the opportunity to meet with a respiratory therapist and a registered dietitian. Throughout treatment, you may:
- Exercise using a treadmill, bike or other cardio equipment
- Be monitored by a nurse or another healthcare professional for a change in symptoms
- Start slowly following a safe exercise program that will gradually help you to become stronger
- Gradually move into a more intensive program that lets you work longer and harder, building endurance. Possibly begin strength training if allowed by your provider
- Have your heart rate and rhythm monitored, blood pressure and oxygen levels checked and reported to your provider
