New Castle, IN – Henry Community Health (HCH) has expanded its surgical capabilities with the acquisition of the Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System, marking a significant technological advancement in the organization’s patient care strategy.
The new robotic surgical technology aligns with HCH’s strategic goal of enhancing surgical, inpatient, and ambulatory care services to improve patient outcomes and experiences. Dr. Chris Carls, an OB/GYN, performed the inaugural surgery using the system.
“As a surgeon, I’m excited about how the Da Vinci Xi system allows us to provide more precise, less invasive surgical options for our patients,” Dr. Carls said. “This technology represents our commitment to delivering the most advanced, compassionate care possible, giving patients faster recovery times and potentially reduced complications.”
“The addition of our new Da Vinci Robot Xi represents a true technological milestone in the way we deliver care to our patients,” said Brian Ring, president and CEO. The advanced system is expected to improve surgical precision, potentially reduce hospital stays, and accelerate patient recovery compared to traditional surgical methods.
Lisa Hall, Director of Surgical Services, noted that the implementation was the result of months of careful planning and team preparation. “Our surgical teams have been diligently preparing for their expanded clinical roles with this technological advancement,” Hall explained.
The Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System represents HCH’s commitment to investing in cutting-edge medical technology that enhances patient care and clinical outcomes.
