Jennifer Woodward, RN, has been recognized by Henry Community Health as its the first quarter 2021 International DAISY Award® recipient. Woodward was nominated by fellow nurse, Misty Lawson, who stated in her nomination, “Jennifer is always doing more than required, has a great attitude, a sense of humor and such a strong work ethic she makes me want to be a better nurse.”
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.
Woodward has been a nursing supervisor for Henry Community Health for 16 years.
